CNDH RDC

The CNDH and the Permanent Sub-Commission on Civil and Political Rights

A national institution for the promotion and protection of human rights in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

About us

The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) is an independent national institution responsible for the promotion and protection of human rights. The Permanent Sub-Commission on Civil and Political Rights (SCP-DCP) has jurisdiction over the entire national territory and handles reports locally through its provincial offices.

Our bodies

The SCP-DCP relies on a multidisciplinary team: commissioners, investigators and documentation officers. It works with national institutions, civil society organisations and international partners to strengthen the protection of fundamental rights.

Organic law

The CNDH operates within the framework of the organic law organising the National Human Rights Commission. This law defines its independence, mandate, attributions and the procedures for citizens to refer matters to it.
